How to Choose a Domain Name Part II

The important factor is that your domain name relates to your niche, or subject of your website. It\’s also important to understand how search engines look at keywords. Spaces are important, as we just found with light houses. So are singular & plural forms. Most distinguish between the singular & plural, & if you want proof attempt both in any search engine. If the result lists are different then numbers count. You can not use spaces in domain names & have to use dashes instead.

Your domain name should only be chosen when you\’re certain of the general description of what your website is about. You should then carry out keyword research & find out what kind of words other people are using to find your product. You should then use these words to find out how many other web pages are using them. Finally, you should select a domain name that others are liable to use when seeking your product & for which there isn\’t too much competition.

However, do not let competition frighten you… Millions of web pages are not properly optimized or have very poor content & are easy to beat in the race to the top. If you select the right domain name & optimize your web pages you at least have a start. There\’re many other techniques you can use to get a good listing in search engine indices & the choice of domain name is just one of them.

However, if somebody searching for your product sees a website with a name that relates to that product, then are more than likely to click on the site. If you known how to select a domain name & how to carry out keyword research, then you\’ll have a better chance of success than if your domain were randomly selected.
