How To Search An Expired Domain Name

October 27th, 2010 dean Posted in Domain name information No Comments »

What is means of Expired domains names?

A website or domain name is a subscription service. When we think or want to make a website which is owned by us, it comes to under a subscription package. The subscription can be comes under monthly, yearly or weekly package. Its depends on us that which subscription package we want to buy from a domain provider company. The cost of subscription package is also differs and depends on the time. When our subscription of a particular website or domain seems to be expire we have to renew it from the company by which we was bought a domain.

Sometimes people do not want to renew their domain names, due to some reasons. The reasons behind this that they want to shift their business to other domain or they want to close their current business.

If we love a domain suppose I love the www.gmail.com domain. But I could not buy this domain name because it is owned by Google and it renewed always according to its subscription package which depends on the buyer. Now suppose Google does not renew its domain name now it will come in to the expire status and when we will open that site, we come to a page there was written that “THIS DOMAIN IS EXPIRE”.

When a domain will expire we can buy it from the domain provider company and that domain can be ours. Now the owner is changed of that domain name which was expire in some situations.

In Short, expired domains names are those domain names or website which was not renewed according to their subscription package by the buyer of that domain name.

Why we should buy expired domain names?

That is the main point, why we buy expired domain name, even we can be buy a new domain name. It is a key. Because old domain names are those domain names which was seen by people in past but now those people are comes to a page “THE DOMAIN IS EXPIRE”. So a old domain name when it will be shifted to a new website then you can generate a lot of free traffic and sales. And it will come to you on your website for free.

How to search a list of expired domain names?

Generally, we waste our valuable time in searching expired domain names in Google or yahoo and as a result we unable to find expired domain name in major search engines. Because in search engines there is not a ready-made list of expired domain names from around the world. So we waste our time in vain.

Recently, my friend suggest me a good and cheap software which is powerful and can be search expired domain list from worldwide through multiple company which are leaders in domain registering. It is a powerful tool because by clicking a single button I can see the complete list of expired domain around the globe. Thanks to my friend which is given me and suggest me a powerful tool like this. This software comes in to one time fees and you can use it till lifetime. You have not spend anyone after a one time fee ever and you can buy any choice of your expire domain name in seconds’ also want to suggest you that do not buy those software which comes to under monthly or yearly subscription price. Because internet is full of similar software’s. But no-one is like cheap and reliable as this. But Choice is yours.

Thank You!

Choose Domain Names Wisely

October 21st, 2010 dean Posted in Domain name information No Comments »

How to choose a domain name? This question arises when you plan to create a new blog or website. It is one of the first steps you should take in order to create your online appearance. If your blog has its own domain name, it looks more professional. Your domain name brands your blog and it represents topic or business of your blog. Mostly it is one of the first things people see before or while visiting your blog, so it is a important but not only factor in the success of your blog.

When choosing a domain name you must think about the future of your website. For this you have to research and read various articles on internet on this topic and make sure to choose the domain name that you really want.

The worst thing is to make a bad decision and after some time thinking to move to a new domain name. This behavior will negatively affect your Search Engine Rankings and all back-linking you have done would become useless. If you wish to register your own domain for your website, we have some handy tips for you. The key points you need to consider are:

Your domain name needs to be…

Unique
Catchy
Easy to remember
Easy to pronounce
Hard to misspell
Short and Simple
Try to get.com domain

Your domain name needs NOT to be…

(Don’t ) Start or end with a hyphen
(If Possible don’t) Use hyphens, numbers, abbreviations, unnecessary words (e.g. the, and, a….)
(Don’t ) Follow mis-spellings trends (e.g. koolpoint.com instead of coolpoint.com )
(Don’t) Use a trademark name (e.g pepsi-colla.com, pepsi is a trademark)
(Don’t ) Use Special Characters as Domain names can only use letters, numbers, and dashes. Spaces and symbols are not allowed
(Don’t ) Use Easily confused words ( For ‘shoeswearing.com’ It’s confusing that, Is it ‘Shoe Swearing’ or ‘Shoes Wearing’?)

Keywords Vs Brandable Domains!

We can categories the domain names mainly into two categories:

Keyword Based Domains - These domains contain your keyword in them. Having this type of domain is good for a number of reasons. Keywords tells quickly to your readers what the blog is about.
Having keyword in your domain make it easier to rank and get traffic from search engines.
Keywords are more likely to be used as anchor text when others link to you. Examples of blogs with keyword based domains are themovieblog.com, cellphone9.com and simsgamer.com.

Brandable Domains - These domains might have some relation to their topic but are much more about creating something memorable that can become an identity in and of itself. These domains are ideal if you want to develop a blog or community for loyal returning readers. Of course these blogs can also do very well in search engines because having keyword in domain is not a single factor to raise your Search Engine Position. Blogs that have these types of domains include mashable.com, gawker.com and dooce.com. It is amazing that if you look at Technorati’s Top 100 blogs – you’ll see that most of them have brandable names and not Keyword based ones.

In Conclusion…

If you’re building a blog and most of your traffic based on one-time incoming links from search engines, then yes, get yourself a keyword rich domain.
But if you think that you have such content and ideas that people will love your site and your site/blog will become a brand, which will attract loyal readers, people will come back and recommend your site to friends, then a more brandable domain is better.

Thinking of the Future

As i said earlier it’s an important factor to consider while choosing domain for your blog, you have to consider what your blog might look like in the future. There are a number of bloggers who start there blog with the the domain which initially match with the topic of the their blog due to narrow topic of that blog but after popularity of blog when they plan to expand scope of there blog by adding some other sub-niches they found that these new sub-niches are not matching with their domain name. From this aspect domain it-aroma.com is a good example because it has a advantage to add some other sub-niches in future specially relating to the IT field, which is obviously very vast field.

Domain name research tools

If you do not know what keywords to focus on you can use nameboy.com and domain-suggestions.domaintools.com, these are two of the best sites that will give you a list of available domains according to your keywords.

Registering your domain name Registering a domain name is a simple process. You can use justhost.com. When you buy a hosting account, which cost $3.45/month, One domain is Free with it.

7 Strategies to Choosing an Effective Domain Name

October 18th, 2010 dean Posted in Domain name information No Comments »

There are many ways in which you can register domains, or domain name, and most of the time it is relatively inexpensive and sometimes it is even free. You simply need to do a little research in order to find the domain name that works for your business and fits your budget as well.

1.What’s the purpose of the domain name? Are you planning on using this name as the main website for your company, as a one page sales letter site, or squeeze page site?  If the domain name will be your primary company website, try and find the closest version to your company name that you can.  If you’re just starting out, choose your business name and domain name with care.  When I started my virtual assistant practice, I chose the name SOHO Business Solutions, as I thought everyone knew that SOHO stood for Small Office, Home Office.  I think I’ve run into 2 people in my 7 years in business who knew what that acronym stood for. If I had it to do over again for this business, I would choose a business name and domain name with virtual assistant in the title, like InternetMarketingVirtualAssistant.com, a name I just recently purchased.

If the purpose of a domain is for a one-page sales letter site or a squeeze page, think ahead as to how you might promote this site.  Because content is king in today’s internet marketing world, there’s little chance that either of these types of sites would be picked up by the search engines on key words.  Therefore, your best promotion strategy is PPC, or “pay per click”, where you’re buying keywords for placement in search engines.  If you’re buying keywords from Google, for example, the paid listings appear at the top of a search in a blue box, or down the right-hand side of your screen.  You want to be sure that the info displayed there is compelling enough to get someone to click and visit your site.  So, for example, I’ve created a squeeze page, GetMoreClientsOnline.com, which has a compelling solution to a common problem that my clients have, as a side door gateway to my OnlineBizCoachingCompany.com coaching website.

2.  Brainstorm a list of ideas of the problem you’re trying to solve or the solution that you have.  A domain name that clearly indicates what you do, or a problem that you solve, or a solution that you have to a problem will give a visitor a fairly clear picture of what s/he’ll find on your website.  What I typically do is go to my domain registrar, www.UltraNetDomains.com, and just start plugging in the names I’m brainstorming until I come up with 3 or 4 that are available.  If the domain name that you type in isn’t available, the service will come up with 10 or so alternates for you to consider.  I found this alternate listing quite helpful recently in picking the name of an article directory site that I want to create.

3.  For SEO (Search Engine Optimization) purposes, it helps to have your keywords in your domain name.  Marla Regan, who’s a professional organizer, has put two keywords in her domain name, OrganizedTime.com. Retirement Coach Lin Schreiber has her keyword niche in her domain, RevolutionizeRetirement.com.  Consultant John Reddish has the desired outcome keywords in his domain, GetResults.com.  I own a domain that I haven’t yet developed for house sitters, BecomeAHouseSitter.com.  Before buying your domain, make a list of keywords that someone might use to find you online.  This list could include your industry, your target market or niche, a problem your target market has, or a solution that you can offer.

4. Shorter is better, if it’s to be your primary domain. I haven’t always followed my own rules here, as I tend to have business names that are quite lengthy. If the domain name is going to be your primary domain where your primary email address will be housed, you want your domain name to be as short, catchy, and memorable as possible. After a few times of spelling out your lengthy email address, you’ll come to appreciate the beauty of a short domain name. Your domain name can contain up to 67 letters and numbers, although I would encourage you not to have one of this length, and can contain no special characters other than hyphens.

5.  Purchase your your given name as a domain name.  I typically tell my clients not to try and brand their given name as their business name, as that takes many years, much money, and lots of hard work to have the name recognition of Oprah, for example.  However, it still pays to purchase your given name as a domain name, as well as any common misspellings of your name.  Many people think my name is Donna Gunther, with an “h” in the last name, but I’ve been unable to register that common misspelling of my name, as a photographer in Venice, CA, has owned in since 2000. Once you’ve purchased your name as a domain, you can redirect it to your primary website.  This means that when someone types in a domain, they land at the website to which you pointed that domain.  So, currently DonnaGunter.com redirects to OnlineBizCoachingCompany.com because I don’t want to use my name as a website, although that might change in the future.

6. Buy the .COM version of the name if it is available.  When people hear a domain name, they “hear” .COM whether it’s .NET or .BIZ or .ORG or whatever.  So, it pays to find a domain name that you like that is part of the .COM family. If you just can’t get the name you want, try a hyphenated version of the .COM name.  For example, when I was seeking a domain name for my Self-Employment Coaching Gym, I really wanted SelfEmploymentSuccess.com, but it wasn’t available.  However, Self-Employment-Success.com was available, so I grabbed that.  Many SEO specialists state that search engines like hyphenated names, and many online business owners use hyphenated keywords in their domain names to be more attractive to search engines. I don’t have a clear answer as to the validity of this theory, so I just advocate going this route before having to resort to the .NET or .BIZ of the name you desire.  Some domain name holders may be willing to sell you the domain name that you want.  You can find out who owns a domain name by checking the WhoIs Registry at Internic, http://www.internic.net/whois.html.  For info about country codes (two-letter) top-level domains (.UK or .CA, for example) visit http://www.uwhois.com/cgi/domains.cgi?User=NoAds

7.  Consider owning other versions of your primary domain name. If you are registering the .COM version of a domain for your business, you may also want to secure variations of the name, alternate spellings, common misspellings, and the .NET and .ORG versions of your domain and repoint them to your main site to keep them out of the hands of your competitors. You can also go broke very quickly by purchasing all of these variations, so exercise some restraint in your purchases and don’t go crazy with purchasing every single variation of your domain name.  For my coaching company site, I own both the OnlineBizCoachingCompany.com and OnlineBusinessCoachingCompany.com and decided that was good enough.

Your domain name is the beginning of the establishment of your presence online,  Take some time and put some thought into the process so that the domain name serves you well in the years to come, and is an effective tool for helping you get more clients online.

Selecting a Quality Domain Name

September 30th, 2010 dean Posted in Domain name information No Comments »

When you’re ready to launch your web site and you’re trying to select a good domain name, there are many factors that need to be taken into consideration.

Select a Domain Name that Reflects Your Web Site

Above all else, your domain name should reflect what your web site is all about. For example, if your web site is about grooming a dog, you certainly wouldn’t want to select a domain name like ‘mybusinessname.com,’ as this would have nothing to do with your web site’s focus. You would want to select a domain name that tells the world what your web site is all about — something like ‘doggrooming.com.’

Select a Domain Name that Contains Your Web Site’s Keywords

Another consideration of great importance are your keywords. Try to select a domain name that contains your most relevant keyword phrase, as some Search Engines place relevancy on them. A keyword phrase is two or more words that best describe your web page. If your web page is focusing on grooming a dog, your best keyword phrase will be “dog grooming.”

Select a Domain Name that will be Easily Remembered

With millions of web sites accessible on the Internet, it is also very important to select a domain name that will be easily remembered. As in the ‘doggrooming.com’ example above, ‘doggrooming.com’ is very easily remembered, contains the most relevant keyword phrase and describes the web site in explicit detail. It is the ‘perfect’ domain name for this particular web site.

Select the Best Domain Extension

Another consideration of importance is the domain name extension. Although there are many new domain extensions available, dotcom is still the best choice. When typing in a web address, Internet users automatically want to type in a .com extension, as this is the extension that has been embedded into our brains from the start.

Avoid Using Numbers in Your Domain Name

Although you may be tempted to do so, avoid using numbers within your domain name. Including a number within your domain name can cause problems, as when you tell someone your web address, you will continually have to tell them it’s a number and not the word. For example, if you selected a domain name like number1host.com, if you were to tell someone your web address, they may try to type it as ‘numberonehost.com’ instead of ‘number1host.com.’ This type of domain name would cause confusion.

Avoid using Dashes and Underscores in Your Domain Name

Although many people do it, don’t make the same mistake I made when I first started out. Avoid using dashes, underscores or any other characters within your domain name that may cause confusion. When I registered my domain name, Web-Source.net, I actually wanted websource.com; however, it had already been registered. So, I settled for Web-Source.net. Now, when I tell someone my domain name, I have to say it like this: web dash source dot net.

Don’t get me wrong, www.Web-Source.net is now a high traffic web site, but I can only imagine how much traffic I’ve lost over the years due to my domain name. I have received many emails over the years from visitors who had a hard time finding my site. They said they couldn’t remember the domain name and kept wanting to type in websource.com.

Avoid using Abbreviations within Your Domain Name

Although well-known companies, such as IBM, can get away with using abbreviations within their domain name, most companies can’t. As a rule, try to avoid using abbreviations or anything that will be difficult for your visitors to remember. Not only will this cause confusion, but it can also cause your potential visitors to make spelling mistakes when trying to type in your web address.

Avoid using Long Domain Names

Although you may now register long domain names, it’s really not a good idea. I learned this lesson the hard way. I registered ‘www.workfromhomebusinessguide.com’ and the sad thing is … I can’t remember the domain name half the time. How can I expect my potential visitors to remember it? Try to keep your domain name as short as possible. The longer the domain name the harder it is to remember and the more apt your potential visitors are to make a typo when typing it into their browser.

Ensure Your Domain Name is Not a Trademark Infringement

Prior to registering a domain name, you may want to consider searching the Trademark Electronic Search System, http://www.uspto.gov/main/trademarks.htm to ensure your potential domain name isn’t infringing on any trademarks.

Please don’t take this point lightly, as trademark infringement could cost you your entire business. It is your responsibility to ensure that your potential domain name doesn’t infringe on any registered trademarks, as the trademark laws that apply in the hard copy world also apply on the Internet. Any company that registers a trademark has the right to protect their trademark and has the right to notify you that your domain name is infringing upon their trademark.

When you’re ready to begin, create a list of a dozen or more potential domain names, as chances are, your first choice will already be taken. With any luck, one of the domain names on your list will be available.

Take your time and select a quality domain name that will grow with your business. It will be well-worth your time and effort in the long run.

Simple Steps to Get Your Domain Name

September 27th, 2010 dean Posted in Domain name information No Comments »

The Domain Name System (DNS) enables people to navigate their way around the Internet. Every computer that is connected to the internet is identifiable by a string of numbers called an “IP address” (IP stands for “Internet Protocol”). As the internet developed so did the DNS, so that now a string of letters can correspond to a particular IP address. This means that instead of using a complicated sequence of numbers you can type www.adomianname.com, which is a lot easier to remember.

No matter what sort of site you are intending building, you should consider getting yourself a domain name. Your domain name is your personal web address and can reflect anything you desire, including your own name or the subject of your business.

There are several reasons why an internet business requires its own domain name including:
• A domain name makes your site more credible and reliable
• The URL of a domain name will never change even if you change you website hosting, so that customers are not needed to be informed should you change hosting.
• Choosing a good domain name will make your site more memorable to your clients, so that people will recall your company easily which spells more profits.
• Advertisers and sponsors are more likely to sponsor websites who have their own domain name.
• Your won domain name allows you to set up various email addresses for specific uses, e.g. support@yourdomain.com and sales@yourdomain.com

The organization that is responsible for maintaining and co-ordinating the entire domain name system is called ICAAN. TO register any domain name you need to use an ICAAN accredited domain name registrar.

There are numerous domain name registrars and fees for domain registration vary from $8.95 to $35+. Some web hosting companies now offer a free domain name registration as part of their hosting packages.

Registering your domain name is essentially a four step process as follows:

Step 1: Carefully consider what domain name you would like, try to make your domain name as concise as possible and specific to the site you have in mind. Construct a list of alternative domain names, in order of preference. This is because with the huge number of websites in the Internet, some of your ideas for the ideal domain name might have already been taken already so the more names you can think of, the better.

When deciding on your domain name also consider the top level domain TLD) extension you want. The TLD is the .com part of the domain name domainname.com. There are a variety of domain extensions, and the one you wish to use may well affect the price you will have to pay.

The range of TLDs includes .com, .net, .org, .info and .name (used with a personal name e.g. JezLacey.name). None of these TLDs have specific requirements. In addition to these universal TLDs there is also .biz, which is for commercial and business use only. Finally, there are also country specific TLDs, which can only be used by persons who are citizens and residents of that country and by businesses and organizations present in that country where domain extension is applicable, example include .us (USA), .co.uk (UK) and .fr (France).

Step 2: Obtain the IP address or domain nameserver from your hosting company. A nameserver is a special type of domain that is used to identify a particular server. After registration you will need this information in order to set up your domain for use.

Step 3: Prepare for payment. The usual method of payment with domain registrars is via a credit card.

Step 4: Apply for your domain name. You can use your web hosting company to do this, or one of numerous accredited domain registrars. Good examples include enom.com, the ever popular GoDaddy.com, Dotster.com and many others.

When registering your domain name, ensure that you are the registered domain owner. This important because a web host can set themselves as the domain owner, and if they do, then you have no say in what happens to the domain name. For example, if you decide to transfer your domain to another registrar. For this reason you should also ensure both the technical and administrative contracts should be you.

When transferring a domain the new registrar will try contacting the domain owner first, then if that fails the administrative and then the technical contact. There have been cases where the web host has registered itself as the administrative and technical contact for a client. They can then make it difficult for clients to move to other registrars by pending the move or by even refusing. So, stay in better control and avoid this kind of situation.

With these guidelines, you are now well equipped to register your own domain name. As good domain names are getting more and more difficult to find, if you already have an idea for a great domain name, register them now before it’s too late.
