Expand Your Home Based Internet Marketing Businesses With Expired Domain Names

November 2nd, 2011 dean Posted in Expired Domain Names No Comments »

I love the idea of buying domain names…it is a great way to expand your existing home based internet marketing businesses for not a lot of money. That is pretty cool, right? You grow your list, make more sales without having to build a new website and without having to take a lot of time or spend a lot of money to do it. Seems too good to be true…but it isn’t!

Traffic is the lifeblood of the internet. Of course the key is targeted traffic. You can build this traffic yourself organically, or you can take a short cut. You do that by buying a domain where someone else has already done that work.

That way you can take advantage of the work someone else has already put into a website. There are a lot of reasons why someone might let a domain name expire. Maybe it was getting a lot of traffic but they didn’t have the right products for that traffic-or maybe no products for that traffic-so they weren’t bringing in any money…or not enough money.

Maybe they lost interest. Maybe they no longer had time. Maybe it was a hobby or a passing fancy. Whatever. If they put in the time to build links and get everything to get traffic to the site and then let the name expire, you can turn it around and make some bucks from it.

One way that you can make money from expired domain names is to redirect the traffic to your existing website. Domain names expire in just about every niche you can think of. That means you can get an expired domain name that has traffic that is already targeted to your niche! And we all know that targeted traffic is the best kind. So when you are considering buying expired domain names you are going to be sure it is in your niche…something that you have products that you can promote that fit.

Another way to make money from expired domain names is by “parking” the name.

So in the first example you redirect traffic to your site.

Parking is similar in that you are going to redirect the traffic so it isn’t floating around, lost out there, but this time you are going to redirect that traffic to a parking site.

A parking company will take it from there and do all the work. Basically what you are going to be doing is sending people to a page that has ads on it…but you don’t have to create the page or the ads. When any of that traffic clicks on the ad and buys something you get a share in the commission.

Why would you want to go this route? Well, maybe you don’t have products to promote…or maybe you found a great site with awesome traffic but it isn’t in your niche. The beauty of parking domain names is that they don’t have to be in your niche.

If you follow either of these techniques, you can use expired domain name traffic to expand your home based internet marketing businesses. Whether you decide to promote products or park you can profit from the work done by previous owners.

Home Based Internet Marketing Businesses Make Money Fast With Expired Domain Names

October 3rd, 2011 dean Posted in Expired Domain Names No Comments »

Anyone with home base internet marketing businesses can use expired domain names as a way to make some money as long as you find one with decent traffic. It doesn’t take long and you can get monthly income coming in right away.

How much does it cost

Buying expired domain names can vary in cost. Most of the time you can buy a good domain name for about -75. With that kind of low investment it is easy to make that a profit. You can of course find domains that will cost you more, but especially when you are starting out I don’t suggest it.

How can you make money

There are a couple ways that you can make money from buying expired domain names.

The first is to redirect that name to your existing website. This works great when you buy a domain name that is in your niche and if you have a website that you use for either list building or promoting products.

A second way to make money is to buy a domain name and then resell it.

This usually means you are going to hold that name for awhile…and while you are holding it you are going to make money from the third method.

The third way to make money with expired domain names is to park them. In this case you don’t have to be in a particular niche, you just redirect the name to a parking company and you collect money from that company. The build a site and put some ads on it and whenever somebody clicks on one of the ads, you make some money.

How long does it take

Redirecting a domain name is really fast and easy to do. If you already have a website you probably know how to do this. If you have done any affiliate marketing where you buy a domain name then you have definitely already gone through the steps and you know how easy it is.

So whether you are redirecting to your own website or to a parking company it really takes about two clicks.

Let’s say the domain is registered with GoDaddy.

Of course the process would be really similar with whatever registration company you are using. Within your account there is a place where you can change the Host Records or the DNS Records.

In the case of parking, you enter in the name server of the parking company you are using.

Bam! That’s it.

Now the very first time of course you will have to set up an account with a parking company but that doesn’t take long either…really a couple minutes to set up an account. You can do a Google search to find the companies. There are a ton of them out there. They are really competitive…which is a good thing for you because they are competing for your business.

Some of the sites are more user friendly than others…so look at them and see what looks good to you. Some will have higher or lower payouts. What I suggest is you start with one and get a baseline. Then you can always move your site to another parking company.

So it is really that quick. Once you have set up your account with the parking company you can have everything done in a matter of minutes. You register your domain for around -75. You redirect the name to the parking company. That’s how home based internet marketing businesses can easily and inexpensively profit from expired domain names.

I need advice on retrieving an expired domain name.?

September 21st, 2011 dean Posted in Expired Domain Names 2 Comments »

Question by Deanna: I need advice on retrieving an expired domain name.?
So I guess I forgot to update my email on my dns account so I didn’t get the notice that my domain was expiring. I called the company and they said that I either have to wait a month to re-get the domain and risk loosing it or I can do a domain retrieve and they can get it back for $ 80. I would like to save the $ 80, does anybody know of a better way?
I don’t mean to sound cheap, but $ 80 is a lot to me right now.
I tried looking at other registrars and they all say it is already taken…now what?

Search optimization – Domain info more important than you think

September 8th, 2011 dean Posted in Expired Domain Names No Comments »

In my quest to get some clear proof of the factors used to rank search result I’M this time taking a closer look at the importance of domain related info in googleland.

Domain information such as DNS, age of domain and even the expiration date are used to distinguish between illegitimate and legitimate domains.

Why are google doing this? Simply to get all the factors they can to get an internal “trust score”.

This “trust score” is used to eliminate “doorway” pages and spam in the search result.

I’M not saying that it’s working perfectly – but they are doing a pretty good job.

Let’s dig into more details in the patent.

Key elements in the patent regarding domain information:

Individuals who attempt to deceive (spam) search engines often use throwaway or “doorway” domains and attempt to obtain as much traffic as possible before being caught. Information regarding the legitimacy of the domains may be used when scoring the documents associated with these domains.

Certain signals may be used to distinguish between illegitimate and legitimate domains. For example, domains can be renewed up to a period of 10 years. Valuable (legitimate) domains are often paid for several years in advance, while doorway (illegitimate) domains rarely are used for more than a year.

The age, or other information, regarding a name server associated with a domain may be used to predict the legitimacy of the domain. A “good” name server may have a mix of different domains from different registrars and have a history of hosting those domains, while a “bad” name server might host mainly pornography or doorway domains.

The newness of a name server might not automatically be a negative factor in determining the legitimacy of the associated domain, but in combination with other factors, such as ones described herein, it could be.

DNS record for a domain may be monitored to predict whether a domain is legitimate. The DNS record contains details of who registered the domain, administrative and technical addresses, and the addresses of name servers
For instance, whether physically correct address information exists over a period of time, whether contact information for the domain changes relatively often, whether there is a relatively high number of changes between different name servers and hosting companies.

.org Expired Domains – Understanding Their Merits

September 7th, 2011 dean Posted in Expired Domain Names No Comments »

Everyone prefers to own a .com type of domain extension and .com continues to lead the domain pack for its perceived benefits and advantages. Though, .com continues to dominate the domain names, .org types of domain names are increasingly becoming well known for their better and cleaner image. This could be due to their non-profit and charitable origins and their altruistic nature. Furthermore, a domain extension that ends with .org tends to be seen by many people as something good and honorable. In fact, people can easily identify a charity or non-profit owned web portal ending with .org extension better than an ordinary .com web portal. Of late, .org expired domain names are making news as more and more expired domain traders are buying an .org top level domain name.

What does an .org expired domain means to you? How can it help your expired domain business? Simply speaking, an .org type of expired domain can form a viable and safe substitute for a .com type of expired domain extension at least in some areas. Several types of .org expired domains are available these days and some of them relate or belong to following categories of activities:

]]>

1. Charitable activities

2. NGOs

3. Non-profits

4. News or blog sites

5. General and useful info related web portals 6. Directories

7. Review sites

8. Free utilities

Tip: Though, an .org domain is meant for non profit and organizational activities, people are using this type of domains are other activities that non business in nature. Just some time back, people used to think that .com type of extensions were the exclusive properties of businesses and corporate houses. But, people do use a .com extension for other purposes as well.

There are no restrictions on how you can use a, .org type of expired domain name. There are many entrepreneurs who use .org type of name to sell products and services that belong to advertizing sectors. It means that the image of an .org being a non profit type of domain extension is just an image and nothing else. An .org type of expired domain could lead to a hefty profit, because there are many organizations that keep looking for a good .org top level domain (tld).

Today, non profits and organizations are becoming corporate like entities with very strict public image consciousness and awareness. If you feel that you have very good .org type of expired domain name, go out and grab it immediately. But, ensure that the .org expired domain that you wish to buy has no established trademarks associated with it. .Org type of expired domains must elicit a good response from people who keep looking for relevant information on non-profit and grant making.

My YahooDomains domain name has expired. How can I renew it? Will my Yahoo shopping cart return?

August 3rd, 2011 dean Posted in Expired Domain Names 2 Comments »

Question by toristreas: My YahooDomains domain name has expired. How can I renew it? Will my Yahoo shopping cart return?
My domain name, www.toristreasuresgiftbaskets.com, has accidentally expired. I would like to renew it (and don’t know how), and I am concerned about whether or not my Yahoo Small Business services (like the Shopping Cart) will return once it is renewed. I have a lot of information in there. It expired three days ago.
I can “reactivate” my domain name using that link, ktkck5, but my concern is whether or not the online shopping cart information I have created can be recovered. The fact that it asks me to select a service (either with or without a shopping cart) concerns me very much. I want to restore my domain name without losing that shopping cart information.

No, you can’t. The host of the site may have taken away the account of the web master of that site because of missed payments, illegal material, etc.
